August 16

Sunday we went to the church that our attorney and interpreter go to. I, Russ, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The worship lasted about an hour and a half. That was maybe a little long for other members of our family. After church, while the girls were changing into walking shoes for our walk home, a young couple asked if they could pray for our whole family. It was a really special experience to be prayed for as a family.  After that, we met a couple who are interested in adopting and had a lot of questions for Melody. We also met the pastor’s brother, David and his wife Anna. David is from Ecuador and runs a discipleship ministry associated with the church, but his wife Anna is Wichita, Kansas of all places. For those of you who don’t know, I grew up in Wichita and Melody and I lived there for 25 years before we moved to Idaho. We enjoyed talking to them about our Wichita, Kansas roots and they invited us to come check out their discipleship ministry. They have a 15 room house where they operate a residential discipleship ministry. I thought that was really bold!  It was a very welcoming church and we met a lot of people that seem to really have a heart to grow the kingdom.
