This was our big day in court. Melody and I and Teresa and Alicia traveled to Puyo in the morning to appear before a judge with our attorney, Alex. The hearing took about an hour with the judge and she approved our adoption. It was interesting that most of the judges in Ecuador evidently are women. Our attorney told us that it was the women who had the “character“ to be judges. We were so excited to be approved. The official destination of a three-year journey.
From there, we went back to Baños to pick up Karson, Karrah, Kai and Kaleb to take the four hour trip back to Quito, the capital city which we had flown into a month ago. We got moved into our new place and relaxed. Quite a day with a lot of emotion and a lot of travel.
